"am i my brothers keeper?" - nino brown

When I first saw New Jack City I learned many inner city rules and logics. For one, Nino Brown and Cash Money Brothers made it clear that it was always business before pleasure, no matter the circumstances. Another critical logic in the movie showed how money and drugs can break up the best of friends, even brothers. But the one that was the most significant was the factor of loyalty. CMB was based off of one statement, "i am my brothers keeper" meaning that no matter what you had your brother back. But due to backstabbing, money issues and a new found addiction to the glass dick, G Money and Ninos relationship eroded and eventually led to Nino murdering his own brother. In todays society of corrupt crime and criminal like individuals one man stands out in my mind. Convicted on cruelty to animals, Michael Vick is now facing a year or so in jail. But this isn't an article about his severe acts to dogs and not being able to leave the backhome boys, but a blog about his loyalty. With all three of his lifelong best friends throwing him under the bus, Vick wouldn't give in. He was loyal to himself and his boys. Later Vick would make a plea agreement to get a shorter sentence. But you really can't blame him for giving in at the end, since all of his "boys" snitched on him. Even after the horrible acts he committed to doing, Vick still has my respect for being true to himself and his ideals. if Vick can learn his lessons and stay on the right path he will return to greatness. But even if he does come up short on his return, he will always be his brothers keeper.

"when your playing bad your old, but when your playing good your experienced" - costas

In the suburban black community alot of things are not certain for a man. No one is guaranteed a father, being financially stable or even a settle home. But in most cases, a mother-son connection is destined. I don't know how to explain it. You can call me a mama's boy or whateva, but thats just love and bond that grows from within. And this post is dedicated to the number one woman in my life. From child birth my mom kept a patient hand with me and raised me quite well. She kept me active in my studies and sports and always told me to think and dream big. Its just amazes me how shes still here beside me after all the dumb things I been through, being suspended, failing classes and even lying to her. But we are all past that now. On May 15, 2008 Gayle Mundell turns the ripe and tender age of fifty. Words really can't symbolize how I feel towards her but all I know is that she is my hero and I wouldn't change anything for the world. Today is your day.

Happy Birthday Mom. thank you.
